WHY CHOOSE DR KHETARPAL FOR YOUR SINUS AND NOSE PROBLEMS?

Please visit www.sinusmd.com for more information on this.

CHOOSING DR. KHETARPAL FOR YOUR SNORING AND SLEEP APNEA NEEDS

Dr Khetarpal is one of few ENT-Facial plastic surgeons that besides being Board Certified in ENT-Head and Neck Surgery, is also Board Certified in Sleep Medicine. Sleep Medicine certification requires a comprehensive knowledge of sleep medicine and years of practice prior to passing the exam. He is comfortable managing complex sleep apnea and snoring issues. Obstructive sleep apnea is a common problem in the US. Often the problem starts with snoring and then progresses to sleep apnea. Individuals that have Obstructive Sleep Apnea usually have episodes of choking or gasping for air during sleep sometimes noticed only by your partner or spouse. Obstructive sleep apnea patients have a significantly higher risk of developing hypertension, heart disease, strokes, impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes, as well as attention deficit disorders in children. In addition, because the sleep is broken up during episodes of loud snoring or apneas, a sense of poor sleep is common and day time sleepiness that impairs driving and work may occur. Therefore we advise driving and work precautions in individuals that have sleep apnea and daytime sleepiness. Dr Khetarpal offers in office treatments for primary snoring (not associated with sleep apnea) to complex surgeries for severe obstructive sleep apnea.

WHY CHOOSE DR KHETARPAL FOR YOUR RHINOPLASTY OR FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY NEEDS?

Dr Khetarpal is well trained in facial plastic surgery and enjoys doing rhinoplasties, facelifts and blepharoplasties. Rhinoplasty or nose reconstruction whether cosmetic or reconstructive, is one of the most challenging plastic surgery procedures. Obtaining good results requires a working knowledge of the complex anatomy and relationships within the nasal framework and that of nasal function. He has performed both primary and revision rhinoplasties with good success. He generally prefers to make the nose look natural after surgery instead of "an operated nose" look. He also performs cleft lip repairs.

CHOOSE DR KHETARPAL FOR THYROID AND PARATHYROID CONDITIONS

Dr Khetarpal has significant experience in managing thyroid nodules and thyroid cancers as well as primary hyperparathyroidism using a minimally invasive approach with a small incision. He was the first one in the Rio Grande Valley to offer minimally invasive parathyroid surgery. While the risk for vocal cord paralysis and hypoparathyroidism is present after surgery for thyroid and parathyroids, this is indeed small. If vocal cord paralysis does occur, he has the expertise to do additional surgery if indicated to improve voice.

WHY SHOULD YOU COME TO DR KHETARPAL FOR YOUR HEARING AND BALANCE PROBLEMS, SUCH AS MENIERE'S DISEASE?

Dr Khetarpal spent many years in researching the cause and treatments of various ear and balance disorders. These include genetic hearing loss, vertigo and vestibular compensation as well as Meniere's disease. He has performed tympanoplasties and mastoidectomies, stapes surgery, endolymphatic sac decompressions, selective petrous apex tumor removal as well as ear CSF leak repairs. He has a particular interest in management of Meniere's disease. Please see his CV for list of publications in ear diseases.
